Project 2 Stage Makeup II

Kragmar just emerged from her diapause to find the darkness of her family garden. Her usually long vegetative hair remains short from her pre-winter buzz cut. Her bouncing antennae glow bright to illuminate the path ahead of her as her compound eyes take in the scene around her. Her ears take in every single sound through her human ears as well as the extra set of vibration receptors located on the top of her head.

I started by estimating the number of plastic crystals that I would need for my compound eyes. To do this I placed 2 stones on my face and then duplicated them using snapchat's sticker tool. When the stones appeared to be in the right places I then placed the correct amount of stones in the same places.

For my first attempt at illuminated antennae I placed multiple sizes of glass beads in size order onto a piece of floral wire. I coated these beads in flex seal.

For the compound eyes, I painted overtop of the stones to look like copies of my eyes.

For the vibration receptors I modeled them in clay and coated the models in liquid latex.

I used my phone to time lapse capture my makeup process.
